    Auto Support for twit pic

When you use Twit Pic to upload a image, and then twitter the link.
, TweetFace shows the Twit Pic banner instead of the image.
The image that is uploaded via Twit Pic should auto default to the link image.

    Status: started

This issue is slightly complicated because TweetPo.st just sends the link to Facebook, which then crawls the page and automatically chooses the first image it finds on the page for the preview.

It is possible (and very simple) for the service to optimize their pages so that the right image is selected by Facebook for the preview (see http://www.facebook.com/share_partners.php). We have submitted a Get Satisfaction request for TwitPic to add this support: http://getsatisfaction.com/twitpic/topics/optimize_twitpic_pages_for_facebook_sharing. So, please go vote for it.

*Update* It looks like the folks over at TwitPic have acknowledged the issue and are going to work on it. They have promised to update http://getsatisfaction.com/twitpic/topics/optimize_twitpic_pages_for_facebook_sharing when it is done.

Option to keep Hash Tags from being posted to Facebook

A TweetFace user could set the option to have any #tags in tweets not show up in the corresponding Facebook status message or Wall Post.

    Expand short URLs

URLs from shortening services are posted as such on FB, which leads to a very uninteresting banner below the status update.

It should be fairly easy to get the original URL and transmit that to FB instead (at least, until FB starts doing that itself).

using the first name on facebook rather then the whole name

Would be better if instead of using the whole name on facebook...use just the person's first name. example if I am talking about something i did with my wife as a status I am not gonna say me and allison smith went to the mall today I am gonna say me and allison went to the mall today.

    Status: under review

The way we get the full name is by looking up the user's Real Name on Twitter, which isn't split into first and last names (nor is it always there).

In theory if we added a 'first names only' setting, we could just post whatever we get from the Twitter Real Name up to the first space. But, that would probably result in a bunch of funky issues.

Option to expand 'RT' and 'OH'

Turn 'RT' into 'ReTweet' and 'OH' into 'Overheard'. Any other common Twitterisms we should be handling?

    Map @twitterPerson to @facebookPerson tags

Facebook now supports user tags in status updates (type @someonesname in a status update and you'll see what I mean) if there was a way to list (privately of course) that @joebloggs on twitter was also facebook.com/joebloggs or facebook.com/profile.php?id=11223344 then TweetPo.st could alter the ... more

    Status: planned

We'd love to try to do this (like you say, it wouldn't be 100% accurate). However, we're still waiting for Facebook to allow us to tag users in posts via their APIs.

Allow for exclusion of specific URLs

It would be nice if I could exclude specific hostnames so when I post from sites like FriendFeed they just show up as statuses and not links. The other option would be to allow me to enter my FriendFeed credentials and detect when it is a status update and when it is a link. In this case you'll... more

    Option for Filtering RTs

A TweetFace user can set an option so that any tweets beginning with 'RT' don't get posted to Facebook

Custom Google Analytics API keys so we can see our stats

With Google Analytics being used for stats, we should be able to specify our analytics API key, then authorize tweetface to pull data from that account, e.g. via oAuth. Then I can use all the existing GA tools to run reports, create charts, etc. for my shares, in addition to web traffic, online ads, etc.

make images optional on link posts

When you post a link on Twitter and Tweetface turns that into a FB link, it seems to pick a random image from the site you're linking.

have tweetface respond to @yourname with comments from FB

When a tweet goes to FB from TF and someone on FB makes a comment on that story / status you recieve a tweet response or a direct message from TF via FB friend name.

convert hashtags into links to wthashtag.com wiki or maybe search.twitter.com

often facebook users seem confused by my status updates with hashtags. it would be great if the status could include a link to the wiki or at least a twitter search for some more background on what the hashtag means

adding filtering to exclude posts containing certain keywords

I think there will be many cases where we don't want certain Tweets going to Fb. Rather than creating a setting for each case, would be creating if we could just specify not to post to Fb if a certain keyword is found. (In my case I would use this as part of a workaround for the Twitpic links/log... more

Accept other shorten link sites than awe.sm

There are better sites than awe.sm to shorten links, as bit.ly, tinyurl, cli.gs, etc...
awe.sm is not open for signup at this time, it should be interesting to allow other shorteners. For example, on twitterfeed they have a big list of shorten sites.

Support posting restricted to specific Facebook friend lists

Allow posting only to specific Friend lists, e.g. ability to exclude co-workers or to post only to geekier friends :-)

    /me like IRC

It would be great if tweetpost could strip out /me at the start of any message. That way, we can sometimes write status updates IRC-style, using the right tense for facebook (while still making sense to twitter).

It would also be good to have /me as an option like #fb is, so that you can choose... more

    Allow #fb anywhere in tweet

Ubertwitter adds picture links at the end after the #fb. If #fb is anywhere in my tweet, I want it posted on facebook [and the #fb removed].

Manage short URLs from FriendFeed better

Some types of FriendFeed content -- tweets with short URLs in particular -- end up with two short URLs in them when tweeted from FriendFeed (such as when "liked"): the original link plus a FF-generated link. It would be good if TweetFace could recognize this and only include the origina... more
